Shawna Smithbauer, Ph.D., LPC, is an Assistant Professor at Anderson University in their Clinical Mental Health program and serves as their clinical coordinator. Dr. Smithbauer has a private practice through Living Water Counseling, specializing in trauma-informed care, wellness, trauma, and anxiety and depression. She has a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University and has a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from CACREP-accredited programs. Additionally, she is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. She has extensive experience as a clinical supervisor and in supervising cross-cultural programs. In addition, she also supervises and teaches Ukrainian Counseling-Psychologists at the Ukrainian Psychological Institute. She has experience that ranges from private practice, college counseling, and intensive behavioral health services; and working with various clinical issues from neurodivergence to trauma, anxiety, and depression. Her research interests include trauma-informed supervision, counselor wellness, and trauma.
