About me
After working as a Domestic Violence Advocate in Oregon, Nicola Meade, PhD, LCPC (MD), NCC, studied at Loyola University Maryland. She then achieved her PhD from Old Dominion University, where she was an instructor, and began researching counselor identity formation. She has two ongoing projects on this topic and has two publications in this area. Also, she presently has a community-based private practice, served in ACA leadership in the Native American Concerns group as the co-Vice President for six years, and is an Assistant Professor at Rosemont College. In addition to counselor professional identity development, her research focuses are power and powerlessness as well as posttraumatic growth.
