About me
Marrisa Moore is a second-year graduate assistant at Kutztown University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling with special interests in addictions counseling and racial identity research. During her undergraduate career, Marrisa conducted research on the mental health of Kutztown University's student-athletes with an emphasis on finding appropriate interventions for this population. Since completing and presenting this research, she has decided to shift directions to research on adoption and identity development. As a transracial adoptee, Marrisa provides a unique perspective on the population of transracially adopted children in the United States struggling with racial and ethnic identity development. Her goal is to increase counselors' awareness of the adopted population and to find more effective training for counselors who may treat these individuals and families in the future.
