Dr. Leslie Cogorno, Ph.D., LPC, is an Associate Professor in the MA Counseling Program at Johnson University, where she also serves as CACREP Coordinator. A bilingual clinician fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Cogorno immigrated from Chile and brings a rich multicultural perspective to her clinical work and teaching. Shaped by her upbringing as a missionary kid and pastor's daughter, she developed an early and abiding appreciation for cultural diversity that now undergirds her therapeutic and scholarly approach. Dr. Cogorno maintains a private practice through Acacia Counseling and Consulting Services, specializing in trauma-informed care, neurodiversity, and chronic pain management. Her clinical methodology employs a holistic, bio-psycho-social-spiritual framework that thoughtfully integrates faith-based perspectives. She has provided cross-cultural clinical supervision to psychologists in Ukraine and utilizes EMDR techniques in her trauma-focused work. Her scholarly interests include multicultural counseling, career development among Hispanic/Latino/a/x populations, and the ethical integration of faith and spirituality in counseling practice. Dr. Cogorno earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University (2025) and has contributed to the counseling field with book chapters.
