About me
Sarah Powers, MS, LPC, NCC is a 4th year doctoral student at Adams State University in the Counselor Education and Supervision PhD program. A lifelong Pennsylvania resident, she resides near Philadelphia and earned her master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Scranton. Sarah has worked in elementary, secondary, and non-profit settings as a school counselor and/or college counselor. She recently transitioned into a full-time role as a clinical mental health counselor where she primarily treats children and adolescents. Sarah's research interests include trauma-informed care, college and career readiness, and creative approaches to counseling. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, one year old son, and three cats. She loves to read for fun and is learning to play the banjo!
