Dr. Vincent Sears is a counselor educator, mental health therapist, and scholar whose work explores the intersection of music, identity, and counselor education. His research introduces the concept of Sonic Voice, a framework that examines how music functions as a reflective, regulatory, and meaning-making practice for Black counselor-educators navigating academic and professional spaces.Drawing from humanistic, culturally responsive, and experiential approaches, Dr. Sears integrates music into pedagogy, supervision, and clinical practice to deepen emotional insight and support identity development. His work centers on creating spaces where learning is not only intellectual, but also cultural, relational, and deeply human.
