This session explores the adaptation of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for use in group settings within Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and step-down Outpatient (OP) specialty groups. Participants will learn how to implement group EMDR protocols while maintaining clinical safety, conducting appropriate assessment, and managing risk in higher-acuity populations. The presentation will highlight phased treatment adaptations, resourcing strategies, dissociation screening, and containment techniques that support stabilization while allowing for trauma processing in a group format. Attendees will leave with practical tools for integrating EMDR into continuum-of-care programming while adhering to ethical and evidence-based standards.
