Generative Conversational Artificial Intelligence (GC-AI) and Attachment

This session addresses the unique aspects of generative conversational artificial intelligence (GC-AI) systems in relation to users’ personal consultation and/or emotional connection, unique viewpoints of GC-AI systems users regarding acceptable uses for GC-AI, and how individual attachment patterns of GC-AI systems users may influence types of use and individual mental health outcomes. Attendees will learn of the unique viewpoints of GC-AI systems users in the study, how attachment styles may influence how individuals use GC-AI systems, potential mental health outcomes of regular GC-AI systems use for personal consultation and/or emotional connection, and potential strategies for addressing clients’ over-reliance on GC-AI systems for personal consultation and/or emotional connection resulting in lack of a human support system or poor mental health outcomes.
