58th Annual PCA Conference
Friday November 6, 2026 3:30pm - 5:00pm EST
Students with documented learning disabilities (LDs) navigate a lifetime of transitions — from the (sometimes) structured support of the K–12 education system into the self-advocacy demands of higher education. For counselors working with these clients, understanding the legal frameworks, institutional processes, and direct intervention strategies that shape their experiences is essential. This workshop offers counselors a working knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and 504 plans alongside practical, culturally informed clinical skills. Participants will leave with immediately applicable tools for their work with clients of any age who are students, and their families.
