This 60-minute session explores the ongoing presence of stigma and bias within medicalized mental health settings and how these dynamics impact both clinicians and clients. Through discussion, reflection, and firsthand perspectives, participants will examine how stigmatizing language, assumptions, and systemic practices continue to shape inpatient care despite increased awareness and advocacy. The session invites clinicians to critically reflect on their own roles within these systems while identifying practical ways to reduce stigma and better support individuals who have experienced inpatient mental health treatment.
