58th Annual PCA Conference
Friday November 6, 2026 2:15pm - 3:15pm EST
Counselors-in-training (CITs) face challenges as they complete their counseling program, which can lead to increased stress, anxiety, lower quality of life, and burnout. CITs quickly transition from counseling education programs into their residency and/or career. It is important for counselor education programs to equip CIT with wellness strategies to help reduce these stressors and equip them for this career transition. This presentation will explore some challenges that CITs face as they graduate and move into their residency and/or career, and discuss strategies that can be used to help mitigate this difficult transition.
