Rural recovery: Considerations for the Prevalence of Process and Behavioral Addictions in Isolated Communities (1 CE)

This roundtable discussion centers upon the prevalence of process and behavioral addictions in rural communities. We will discuss perpetuants, systemic barriers, and cultural factors in regard to substance use, disordered patterns of eating, gambling, and social media/gaming engagement. A rich discussion will provide insight for counselors to advocate for recognition of generational and cultural norms that negatively impact the rural quality of life.
