This presentation explores the impact of intergenerational trauma and unspoken shame within AANHPI communities, shaped by colonization, war, immigration, and cultural expectations. Attendees will gain insight into how these experiences manifest as mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and perfectionism, and learn to recognize common trauma responses. The session will also introduce culturally informed, evidence-based healing approaches—including mindfulness-based trauma therapy and prolonged exposure—to foster self-awareness, self-compassion, and lasting resilience.
