58th Annual PCA Conference
Saturday November 7, 2026 9:15am - 10:15am EST
Psychotherapy does not have to be boring. If you are tired of listening to the same story over and over again, then use clinical Emotional Freedom Techniques to help your client have cognitive shifts in one session.
Emotional Freedom Techniques is considered to be the 4th wave of healing meaning nothing like it has existed until 1993 when created by Gary Craig. The approach involves manual stimulation of acupuncture points with imaginal exposure, cognitive restructuring and neuro linguistic programming.
Recent years have seen an emergence of strong evidence for PTSD, anxiety and depression. The number of therapists incorporating clinical EFT into their practice is cited as “tens of thousands” (Leskowitz, 2016, p. 191)

CBT is about thinking differently to make different choices. Imagine if your client has not been able to shift to new thinking. EFT will help them have cognitive shifts easily and safely.  Insurance companies support this evidenced based method.
