Moving beyond traditional "self-care," this session redefines professional self-advocacy as a core clinical competency and ethical mandate (ACA, 2024, C.2.g). Participants will analyze the shift from individual coping to systemic advocacy, exploring how current literature addresses "tele-pressure" and the "always-on" culture of modern mental health.

Attendees will explore a practical, 4-step pedagogical process (Audit, Shift, Lab, and Contract) and creative teaching techniques like "The Backpack Metaphor" and "Reverse Roleplay." These evidence-based strategies empower counselors and supervisors to navigate professional power dynamics, negotiate sustainable workload boundaries, and resist the systemic pressures that lead to early-career exhaustion.
